Winter Wellness Guide: NHS Services and Urgent Care
Winter can be a challenging time for personal health and wellbeing. This practical guide covers services and opening times, to help Enfield residents navigate NHS services during the winter months.
Choose the right NHS service for you and your family this winter
If you need medical help, it is important that you choose the right NHS service for you or your family’s needs, to make sure urgent care is available to those who need it most.
- Make sure you have enough of any medication you need, and remember, your local pharmacist can advise on minor medical problems. You can find your nearest pharmacy at NHS.uk.
- If you are a parent of a young child, the NCL's Help for parents and Children and Young People webpages also provides advice on how to manage a range of common illnesses in children.
- GP practices will continue to be open as usual. Find out how to book an evening or weekend GP appointment here.
- It is important that residents who need urgent medical care come forward as normal, especially when someone is seriously ill or injured, or their life is at risk.
- If you have a health concern that is not life-threatening, NHS 111 online or calling 111 offers quick advice on the best option for you to get the care you need.
- If it is a life-threatening emergency such as serious illness or injury, you should still call 999.
