NHS Industrial Action this Summer

As the NHS braces for industrial action, patients are being guided on how best to access services during the junior doctors strike.
NHS Junior doctors

The North Central London ICB are urging people to take extra care and use services wisely during the upcoming junior doctors, which will be taking place from:

  • 7:00am on Thursday 27 June - 7:00am on Tuesday 2 July

The strikes may impact certain NHS services and could lead to disruptions in some appointments. However, please attend your booked appointments unless you are told otherwise.

If you need medical help, it is important that you choose the right NHS service for you or your family’s needs, to make sure urgent care is available to those who need it most.

  • Make sure you have enough of any medication you need, and remember, your local pharmacist can advise on minor medical problems. You can find your nearest pharmacy at NHS.uk.
  • If you are a parent of a young child, the NCL's Help for parents and Children and Young People webpages also provides advice on how to manage a range of common illnesses in children.
  • GP practices will continue to be open as usual. Please see our guide to out of hours GP services in Enfield for more information.
  • It is important that residents who need urgent medical care come forward as normal, especially when someone is seriously ill or injured, or their life is at risk.
  • If you have a health concern that is not life-threatening, NHS 111 online or calling 111 offers quick advice on the best option for you to get the care you need.
  • If it is a life-threatening emergency such as serious illness or injury, you should still call 999.
