The theme of our conference, 'GP Access Made Simple', reflects our commitment to addressing one of the most pressing issues facing our community today - the accessibility of GP services.
In Enfield, many residents experience difficulties in securing timely appointments with their General Practices, a concern that not only affects individual health but also places a strain on our healthcare system as a whole.
Our annual conference is an opportunity to learn about alternative pathways to traditional GP services and to learn about your rights when it comes to accessing public healthcare.
What to expect:
- Learn about the important work we do at Healthwatch Enfield and our key focus areas for 2024.
- Understand your rights to primary health care and how to make more informed decisions about your health and wellbeing.
- Discover how you can use local pharmacies to access health advice and NHS 111 for out-of-hours GP services.
- Opportunity to network with Enfield residents, professionals, and Volunteer Community Sector (VCS) organisations.

Your Voice Matters
We conducted a public survey to pinpoint the health and social care priorities of Enfield residents. We discovered the following:
GP Access
33% of participants identified improving GP access as their top concern, reflecting widespread challenges in scheduling timely appointments.
Young People’s Mental Health
With 19% of the responses voicing this as a concern, the need for enhanced mental health services for our youth is a significant area of focus.
NHS Dental Care and Cancer Screening
Close behind, concerns over NHS dental services and cancer screening programmes were highlighted, stressing the importance of accessible and preventative care.
These priorities, derived from a mix of online and in-person surveys, offer a clear direction for our project work in 2024.
Q&A sessions are planned with our guest speakers. To make the most of these sessions, we kindly ask attendees to pre-submit their questions via the registration form, due to time constraints.
