Out of hours GP services in Enfield

Enfield has a range of options for accessing a GP or Nurse out of hours. These options vary depending on whether the appointment is routine or urgent.

An out of hours, General Practitioner (GP) appointment is an appointment that takes place outside of your GP practice's regular hours.

Your local GP practice can refer you to out-of-hours services or you can call NHS 111. Out-of-hours GP services operate in the weekday evenings, Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holiday. 

7-day GP access hubs 

Patients registered with a practice in Enfield can access appointments via local enhanced access hubs. Enfield has a range of options for accessing a GP, nurse or healthcare professional out-of-hours. Appointments can be arranged through your practice’s reception team

 

If you need to rearrange or cancel your appointment, you can contact the hub directly by calling 0208 887 8355 (during the hours of operation).  Appointments take place by phone, video, or face-to-face based on your clinical need.   

 

These appointments are available at Four locations in Enfield:  

 

  • Carlton House Surgery in Enfield Town 
  • The Woodberry Practice in Winchmore Hill   
  • The Evergreen Surgery in Edmonton Green 
  • Eagle house Surgery in Ponders End  

 

The hubs are open: 

Monday to Friday 6:30pm – 8:00pm  

Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday 8:00am – 8:00pm

If you need to arrange an appointment but your GP is closed, call NHS 111. You will normally be offered an appointment at the GP hub nearest to you, depending on where your usual practice is located (subject to hub operating hours). Routine appointments can be booked up to two weeks in advance.

Please note, GPs and Nurses at the Hubs have only partial access to your medical records. The service is not suitable for medicals, the completion of medical reports, patients requesting medical certificates or Fit notes or for those requiring travel vaccinations. 

Urgent Treatment Centres

These centres treat most minor injuries and illnesses that are urgent but not life threatening such as, sprains, strains, and broken bones, minor head and eye injuries, bites and stings, minor burns and scalds, minor illnesses.

You do not need to book an appointment, just turn up and you will be seen by either a doctor or a nurse.
