Stamford Care Home Rated 'Good' by CQC
Stamford Care Home is a residential care home situated in Upper Edmonton. It provides personal and nursing care for up to 90 older people some of whom were living with dementia. At the time of the inspection the service was supporting 86 people. The reason for the assessment was partly due to concerns received from the local authority. These concerns included, staffing, cleanliness, eating and drinking, health and safety and governance.
The inspectors did not assess all quality statements at this assessment. For those areas that were not assessed, the CQC used the ratings awarded at the last inspection to calculate the overall rating.
The inspectors found that people's feedback about the service was consistently positive. Residents were satisfied their care workers had the skills and knowledge to support them. Residents reported that the support they received met their needs. People's relatives stated that their loved ones were safe and well looked after.
The inspectors observed that systems were in place to protect people from the risk of abuse and harm. People's support needs were risk assessed and care plans gave staff the information they needed to manage risk. They found that processes were in place to track and analyse information and trends from accidents, incidents (including falls) and safeguarding concerns.
The report stated that the management team maintained a positive culture and staff spoke positively of the manager.
The service retained at rating of 'Good' in all areas.
